Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026. This policy explains what data Nydus.gg collects, why, and what choices you have.

Who we are

Nydus.gg is an unofficial, non-commercial fan website with statistics for the StarCraft: Brood War Remastered ladder. It is run by a private individual based in the Czech Republic (EU), who is the data controller for this website. Contact: [email protected].

Ladder and player data

Player names (in-game "toons"), ratings (MMR), tiers, win/loss records, race, region and match history shown on this site come from public data that StarCraft: Remastered exposes to every player in-game, and from replays that Blizzard stores publicly. We do not receive anyone's e-mail address, real name or account password from these sources. A detected country is an estimate.

If you are a player and want your replays hidden or a profile reviewed, write to [email protected] with your in-game name and region. We handle such requests free of charge, usually within 14 days. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in publishing community game statistics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You have the right to object.

What we collect when you visit

  • Server and security logs: IP address, browser user agent, requested page, referring site, approximate country (from Cloudflare), screen size and time. We use them to keep the site running, stop abusive bots and count visits. Raw IP addresses are deleted after 90 days at the latest; only aggregated statistics are kept longer.
  • Feedback form: your message, the page you were on, and, only if you fill them in, your e-mail and in-game nick. We use them only to reply and to fix the site.
  • Accounts (Battle.net sign-in), when enabled: if you sign in with Battle.net, Blizzard sends us your BattleTag and a numeric account ID. We never see your Blizzard password or e-mail. We store your nickname, the link to your ladder profile and the date of registration. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
  • Replay uploads: replay files you upload (.rep) are stored on our server, analysed automatically (build order, APM, chat) and shown publicly with the player names they contain. Upload only replays you are allowed to share. Ask us to remove one at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

Necessary (no consent needed): scbw_sess (login session, until you close the browser), scbw_nav (shows your nick in the header, while logged in), scbw_lang2 (your language, 1 year), nydus_scr (screen size, used for bot protection and display, 1 year), nydus_vid (random visitor ID for our own visit counting, 1 year). Local storage nydfb_v1 / nydbmc_hide remembers that you closed the feedback or donation box.

Analytics (with your consent): Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) sets _ga and _ga_* cookies (up to 2 years) to measure how the site is used. IP addresses are not logged or stored in GA4.

Advertising (with your consent): we use Google AdSense to show ads that pay for the server. Google and its partners use cookies (for example __gads, __gpi, IDE) to show ads, limit how often you see them and, if you agree, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. Without consent, Google shows only non-personalised ads. More: How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can switch off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings or at aboutads.info.

Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a consent banner on their first visit. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.

Who processes the data

Hosting: a server in the USA (DatabaseMart). Network and caching: Cloudflare, Inc. Analytics and ads: Google. Login: Blizzard Entertainment (Battle.net). Some of these providers are outside the EU; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing, and data portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, ÚOOÚ (uoou.gov.cz).

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
